Good to go out of season or during the week. This is a popular place. I am not fond of these places, but was suprised how relaxing it was.
Very good museum with or without children. Loads to see and learn. Lots of marine animals. Very useful side show down the road if you buy a combined ticket, though no animals. Had loads of fun learning about the world's oceans and weather patterns. History of acrtic exploring and much more.
First time I went to visit it was 25 years ago; last time 10 years ago. This is our third visit to Biarritz, and having visited the related Cite de l'Ocean a few years ago, we decided to visit this museum to complete the set, and felt certain that it would be as good as the Cite de l'Ocean. Small but plenty to see, the highlight is the seal show / feeding. Tip: arrange your visit so you can see the seals being fed.
This aquarium is well located near the centre of Biarritz, and hosts a great selection of creatures. We spent a long visit enjoying watching lots of the animals and were impressed by the way some of them were carefully housed to accentuate the visual display.
