The cottage is worth seeing. For one pound, you get a sense of how people lived back then. How little they had and how they made life comfortable.
This small cottage only takes a short while to walk through, but it has been well preserved (after falling into disrepair) and is a fascinating insight into living conditions from centuries ago. It is very convenient - near Lancaster Castle and the Judge's Lodgings. Well worth a short visit.

This is an interesting place to visit. Being an accurate preserved home of a bygone time it is small and simple. Don't expect bells and whistles but the comparison to a contemporary home makes a visit worthwhile.
For £1 (or £75p for concessions) you get great value for money. The house was built in 1735 and is furnished in the Victorian period. It has original fittings and a resident ghost. This is a very small cottage with very little to see fine to pass a minute or too but other than that nothing to shout about
We spent about 40 minutes looking around this quaint cottage museum. For a £1 entry charge, it's worth it. My children and I love this era and there is nothing better than being allowed to pick things up and feel the history.
