Trim Castle was something me and my wife almost skipped as it was on the outskirts of our general itinerary for our recent visit to Ireland. But, we decided to cut time in Dublin short to allow for a visit to Trim Castle.... And we are very glad we did! The drive to Trim Castle was very enjoyable; the surrounding... More

I had booked to say in the Trim Castle hotel not realising that literally across the road was the castle itself - what a great view from our bedroom window!!! We arrived quite late so didn't get chance to partake in one of the guided tours, which unfortunately meant that we missed out on viewing the tower (you can only... More

Doing the tour is a must for any visitor to Trim. Our guide was funny and very informative, we thoroughly enjoyed listening to all the stories and facts about the building. It was great to be able to climb the spiral staircase, cross over the walkways and walk around the top of the castle. Fabulous views from the top.

Trim castle is in co Meath. You can choose to walk around yourself or do a tour. I would highly recommend the tour. The guide was very informative and gave us some really interesting stories about the castle and the area. The view from the top was amazing. The castle, while not habitable, is in very good nick considering how... More

I really enjoyed visiting Trim Castle. There was a lovely female guide, who made the tour really entertaining. Normally I find guided tours rather boring but the guide had us all interested from start to finish, with her witty insights and vast knowledge it was well worth a visit.

While traveling in Ireland last week we happened to find this lovely village and castle. Our tour guide, Danny, was very knowledgeable and interesting. His Irish humor added to the entire experience. The castle was featured in the movie "Brave Heart" and his stories of the cast and crew added to the tour. We were unable to enter the castle... More

We visited Trim Castle with my parents and three young kids. The kids loves exploring the castle grounds and throwing stones down the old castle well. My older two (aged 7 and 5) also loved the castle tour which was provided by the OPW and gave very interesting insights into the castles history and also outlined Trim Castles importance in... More

With extreme ireland I visited trim castle and other nice historic places in the area. The guide Jim was very well informed and told a lot interesting stories of the area and Ireland. As every Irishman Jim finds it difficult to stay quite. ;-)
