The Interpretative Centre is excellent and free. The views are spectacular. The drive from Westport is a bit bumpy but well worth it.

Well worth a visit here as the observation point gives a fabulous panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. Check with the website before you call as they often have special events on, there wasn't anything on when we called but there was a guy making animal figures out of willows and other sticks (sorry for the non-techie terms) in preparation...

Spacious, informative, increased our interest in wildlife, and we felt we were part of the landscape. Staff were very helpful, and parking is easy.
So unspoilt. Unfortunately the Information centre is not open during the winter. Such pristine beauty must be conserved. An Gaeltacht í an áit seo dáiríre?

Very nice trip, about an hours drive from Westport. There wasn't a whole lot to do there but the trail was very nice.
Really informative educational centre suitable for both children and adults! You get a real sense of the Flora and for a here as well as the history of how the people have for centuries lived with the natural surroundings here!
Getting out and about on the walks is very special, lots of blanket bog land, nephin beg mountain range towers...

It's somewhat stark and largely bog but there's something about it really neat. At least take the 15 minute walk behind the visitor's center if you go through.
Brought my children here in July to pass the time. Found the centre itself to be ok passed the time adequately. Needs more things to see like a proper museum. The walk we took was only the short
One around the centre. Ideal for pushchairs kids on trikes even! I loved the views. Would like to go on the more...
