Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had seen a little bit and heard about how much Ireland loves hurling so I figured it would be an interesting activity to try. My girlfriend and I were the only two in the group that day so Andrew, our guide, gave us the VIP treatment. He was great in explaining the history and culture around hurling. He's also a great coach and helped us pick it up pretty well. It was a ton of fun but hurling is definitely harder than it looks haha. We did a bunch of drills and games to hone our skills and even played some live 2 on 1 vs. Andrew. The tour is run out of Lanigan's which is a great pub and was a ton of fun at night too. I would highly recommend this to anyone spending the day in Kilkenny

With a very athletic teen and a very non-athletic tween, it’s a challenge to find activities that make everyone happy. Andrew was a great host. He taught us the basics and made sure no one felt unable to play hurling. All four of us had a great time and it was easily one the best highlights of our vacation!! My kids can’t stop talking about it and have a new love for a new sport (that they BOTH enjoy!)- that folks is a huge win!!

If you haven’t tried out hurling yet, it’s about time!
We went a group of friends with Peter O’Dwyer who taught us the basics. Then we played a match and we all loved it.
Great tour, can only recommend this experience!!

A fabulous and fun team building experience. People who had played before and those new to it picked up the hurls and were doing puc fadas in no time. Everyone got stuck in and really enjoyed it.
Best part was the match. Would love to do this over and over again. One of the best activities I've done in a long time.

We didn’t know what to expect when we signed up to learn hurling but it ended up being a great experience. Andrew and Peter were very helpful and made it a lot of fun! We are still on our trip to Ireland but we definitely agree it was one of the best experiences we’ve had. We will definitely tell our friends and family who come to Ireland that they need to experience the Kilkenny Way. Thanks guys!

We had a fun, informative, active afternoon (but you don't have to be too active if you don't want to! Mum came too!). It was well organised and Andrew and Peter where patient and skilled. Would recommend it to any one. If you go, challenge Andrew to hit the post 5 times in a row...he did it for us!!!😋

Andy (or the tall guy) was our guide/instructor for the experience. We met right inside Lanigan's and took a walk to the field. It was a beautiful day and Andy answered any questions and provided history about Kilkenny hurling along the way. The experience was very hands on and a lot of fun. Andy was very knowledgeable about the sport and spent time with everyone. The group included an older gentleman who was from Kilkenny, but hadn't been back in years. Although he was unable to actively participate in the hurling ,the interaction Andy had with him was great! For anyone looking to learn more about the sport and history, I recommend this experience. There is an option for a lunch afterwards, which I also would recommend! Thanks to Andy for his time and for making this a very memorable experience!

We booked over a month in advance and they cancelled after the time we were supposed to have started the activity. We were really looking forward to the experience due to all of the great reviews. We were there about an hour early and the bartender/waiter told us our instructor would be there at the appointed time. We ordered food and waited. The time came and went and he never showed. We inquired again and were told he was in a meeting upstairs. We waited for a few minutes longer and were then told by another gentleman that the instructor would not be coming and offered us a cash refund. We did not have a very flexible schedule for this part of our trip in Ireland and were not able to experience multiple other sites and activities in Kilkenny and other cities due to the the scheduled time of the activity and the time they notified us of the cancellation. We were never given a reason why it was cancelled. I'm sure it would have been a lot of fun, and the waiter at the pub was very friendly and helpful, but this cancellation caused us to lose an entire day of activities and site-seeing in Ireland.

Andrew was so patient and kind when teaching our group how to play hurling. After getting the basics down we did some drills then moved on to a game. Andrew joined in, adding some skill, and made the experience extremely enjoyable.

Andrew, our instructor, was extremely kinda and was a good teacher. He is an amazing hurler and he taught us very well. We learned through experience, which is the best way to learn an activity or sport for me. I enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it for everyone who wishes to engage in a true Irish tradition.

Hello
I was wondering if a family of 4 could attend these tours or if a larger group is needed. I have a son who loves sports- anything that involves a ball!
Thank you
