A really atmospheric drive, through ruggedly beautiful countryside, having as a destination, Kenmare, which is a handsome, and well serviced town, which is well worth visiting.

This is definitely a walk you will want to go on on your visit to Kerry. Just follow signs to Torc mountain and start walking up the path. Instead of going up tor, keep going straight and follow the path to Kenmare. Beautiful rolling hills, nice ruined stone houses. Lovely waterfall on the way there with a pool which is... More

I have travelled these beautiful roads all my life, fishing as a boy with my father or sightseeing with my wife and children, always greatly impressed but now, at almost 70 I donned a pair of hiking boots to discover the breathtaking beauty of the interior. I have passed by these places hundreds of times, stopping to fish in river or lake... More

The road through Kenmare from Bantry to Killarney had absolutely wonderful views. The mountains with sheep dotted throughout (and right along the side of the rode although we didn't have any to wait for on the road) were the landscape that we had hoped to experience in Ireland - and it did not disappoint us. We pulled off the road... More

Busy little village, colourful and interesting to visit. Lovely shops of all shapes and sizes. Little street market was cute also.

This is a beautiful walk, not for the faint hearted but well worth the effort, Derrinacunnihy church and the remains of the old mud shacks a haunting sight in such a remote place in those times..beautiful :)

spectacular views ... views can be seen better from Kenmare to Killarney rather than vice versa.... food available halfway between Killarney and Kenmare (in Molls Gap) - best Avoca location in Ireland!

I travel this road several times a year on buisness and still look forward to traveling it each time. Just dont be in a hurry cause you'll be stuck behind someone going at 30 or 40 mph. Just relax and enjoy!!
