The two hour Irish music & Irish dancing show (which takes place nightly at the pub) has been awarded "Best Dinner/Entertainment Event in Ireland" and the pub is the current "Music Pub of the Year” in Ireland. Owners and musicians, The Merry Ploughboys, have been performing together for 22 years making their show the longest running show in Ireland hosted continuously by the same performers. The pub is located about 20 minutes south of Dublin City centre with complimentary car parking. It is easily accessed by taxi or if you are staying in the city centre we recommend our shuttle transfer service (just 5.50 euro return fare). The transfer by luxury executive coach offers an elevated view of the scenic Southside of Dublin city. After the show, the coach will drop you back as close as practical to your accommodation. Reservations are essential, however online bookings for the dinner & show (and shuttle transfer if required) can be made in real-time on our own website. We operate a "ticketless" booking system. You will receive a unique booking reference number on your email receipt and our floor manager will have all your details when you arrive at the pub. « less

We went here our first night in Ireland as part of a tour group and were surprised to find this hidden gem absolutely excellent! The food was traditional Irish fare (vegetable soup, beef stew, etc.) but really delicious. After our dinner the merry ploughboy band played excellent Irish music and gave us a great feeling of the Irish culture! This... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013 Little did we know what a great time we were in for when we arrived at the pub! We enjoyed a traditional Irish meal and were entertained by the Merry Ploughboys and traditional Irish dancers. It was all set up for audience participation. Everyone joined in and it was a real party... More

We had a fantastic time at the pub having booked the nights music show a very pleasant driver runs the affordable shuttle service from the city. The food and bar menu is fantastic but the true star is the musicians, singers and dancers. The show was a magical experience!

Our last night of our CIE tour was at the Merry Ploughboy Pub. It was a grand evening of song and dance. We were thrilled to be in Dublin's fair city and singing about Molly Malone. We were entertained with sing along and the Irish dance was not only unexpected, but of first class caliber.

Having read the reviews I knew this place would be good, I wasn't wrong. Well worth spending your money and enjoying a night out getting to see Dublin as you would expect. Don't get me wrong temple bar is a good crack, but these guys are top for having a laugh enjoying music, dancing and fab food the night over... More

We had just completed a family walk up Tibraden and called in for sunday lunch. It was freezing cold day. The nice warm fire in the pub was most welcome. The staff were very good. Service was excellent. Food was great. Would like to visit at nightime.

My third visit. Extremely well organised, very pleasant waitress service, food was delicious and served very quickly. The Ploughboys are brilliant musicians and the Irish dancing was a treat. One of my teenage daughters was invited on stage by the Irish dancers and this made our night.
