The tour of the Crypt was the highlight of our Sightseeing in Dublin. When it was time to clamber down the stone steps to the belly of the church, we weren't sure what we were getting ourselves into! The guide was absolutely brilliant and has obviously been doing this for a very long time. He was hugely entertaining and very... More

Well preserved skeletons are witnessed under the church in crypts - some of which are still active. Interesting history. Rumor has it Robert Emmett may be buried here. Close to Jameson distillery. Worth visiting.

Great little tour of the crypts of St Michan's church, there are many well preserved coffins in the vaults but the most interesting sight is the four mummified remains which sit in their varied coffins and relate to different periods in time. The nun has very well preserved hands & feet - remarkable! The real buzz was touching the mummified... More

The church itself is nothing to write home about - pretty ordinary, but the crypt/vault is interesting. Some creepy history and very well preserved mummies. the best part is the tour guide. This guy is hillarious. Quite the character I must say. No pictures are allowed in the crypt/vault, but I can see that some people broke the rules. Maybe... More

This is a must see... the crypt and the mummies are quite a site to see, especially that of the old crusader.

This is near Jameson's Distillery and has mummies in the crypt. The tour guide is fun - and this church has significant historical importance. Wolfe Tone's coffin is here, along with two other United Irishmen. It's pretty wonderful in an offbeat way.

This beautiful church north of the Liffey exudes a combination of idyllic calm and underlying excitement. The church is stunningly beautiful both inside and out. The organ at the back of the sanctuary was reportedly used by Handel when he was composing his "Messiah", and there's a really majestic feel to the room despite its relatively small size. The intricate... More

This is a guided tour of the crypts beneath the church, which is slightly off the beaten track. Be aware cash only and no toilets. Tickets are bought in the church and you have a look round until the tour guide comes to take you down into the crypts. There are two to be visited, be aware the steps down... More

Our guide was a hoot and full of entertaining quips too. The crypts are a must see! Make sure to "make contact".

Beautiful place to,wander around. We had hoped to see the Book of Quells but the queue was horrendous. Did go back later in the week in the afternoon around 3pm and no queue so maybe plan a trip there afternoon when it is quieter. Beautiful architecture and just a really restful place, strangely in the centre of the city
