This was a great way to get the lay of Dublin. Great overview of the city. Went on two buses. Look for one where the driver does the talking and not a recording.

The bus drivers... we were on 3 or 4 buses... were fantastic. Very funny. They gave good advice and were very knowledgable. Value wise, a little pricey :(. We lived on the hop on, hop off bus. As an orientation, at first, and by the second day, purely for the transportation. The people on the busses are very friendly and explain really well how it works, but I would have liked all the busses to have had live commentary. We purchased a 3 day freedom of dublin pass, which included the round trip airlink express to the airport for 28e. In my opinion, we'd've been better served to just spend 10e for the airlink bus and completely skipped the hop on/hop off bus tour.
