The guided tour was very interesting. Limited number of spots per tour and we had to wait. Would book a time.

This is a popular destination, and it's a very well-done tour (you can't tour on your own). While you wait for your tour to start, there's a well-done museum to browse around in, which you can go back to afterwards. The tour takes about an hour, and the guides are friendly and knowledgeable. I would have given more stars if... More

When in Dublin make it a point to visit Kilmainham Gaol. You'll be surprised how much history from Ireland you'll learn in this 1 hour tour. It can be shocking and very sad, but we cannot run from history, from past. By visiting Kilmainham, the resident and the tourist alike can understand and empathise with Irish people in many respects.... More

We arrived before noon and the next tour was at 12:25. You cannot pre book tickets nor are there pre scheduled times for the tours. Tickets are 6 euros per person and it is cash only. You can take the Luas red line to the Heuston stop and it is about a 15 minute walk from there. We paid 3.10... More

We generally avoid attractions that require a guided tour in order to visit. The choice to go ahead with this visit is one we were glad we made. The opportunity to hear the history of the jail, and its utilization during periods of civil unrest was very interesting! Our guide was quite well trained, and was receptive to any and... More

Another great tour guide, thanks Ben. What a place - brought back to life by the tireless volunteers over a period of time. The stories of the Goal are fascinating.

This tour was very interesting and enjoyable. The history of the prison is incredible. Definitely go early in the day to reserve your tour.

Myself and the wife went here yesterday , we paid and were ushered into the museum to wait , at 11:45 a tour left , we were to be on the 12:00 tour , it got quite hot as around 50 people were waiting to go on the tour. At 12:15 a tour guide came and announced that the 12:15... More

The tour is extremely informative about the history of this jail. The tour guide was exceptional, and the prison itself adds tremendously to the impact of the tour guide's talk. This is probably a very underrated tourist attraction in Dublin, but don't miss it.

This place is very interesting. We did a tour on a Sunday. Sign up for a tour early! We initially went on Saturday and the next available spots were for five hours later, so we went early Sunday instead. Museum is full of interesting exhibits and the tour guide was very knowledgable. The place is eery but if you are... More
