These form a splendid setting for the Gothic revival-style Main Quadrangle buildings, modelled on a typical Oxford college by the renowned Cork architect of the mid 19th century - Sir Thomas Deane. The overall area of the main campus is forty-four acres, and is supplemented by further facilities nearby. « less

The quad is beautiful and you can always depend on a nice photo. Some of the archways within the university are lovely so even if it is raining you can get a nice photo.

This gallery right off Western Road had two exhibits when I visited - Lost Boys- a documentary of adolescence behaviour (photos, videos and paintings) and another photo collection of noted modern artists including Picasso

I walked around the university campus for a couple of hours one morning. It reminded me of Duke University, but a little more compact and hilly. I especially appreciated the way that the modern buildings blended into the traditional architecture. I would recommend visiting the art gallery on campus as well as the lovely chapel with beautiful stained glass and... More

The architecture of this Victorian style university is magnificent. The old quadrangular blends in with the new modern Boole library. Also, you can visit the Gluxman Gallery which houses some fine works of art. You can also find plenty of restaurants on the campus where food is reasonably priced if your on a budget. All in all, if you are... More

Say what you will about UCC but as a big fan of the Harry Potter books what I enjoyed most was its uncanny likeness to the halls of Hogwarts. I had a very enjoyable afternoon wondering around the grounds surrounded by beautiful architecture. Next time I'll be bringing a few props with me to stage a couple of Hogwarts moments... More

The spring flowers everywhere, plus a bit of sunshine helped to make this a special experience. Such beautiful buildings and a tranquil atmosphere. There was live Irish music in the ref, and the story of the ancient Ogam stones in the main building is fascinating. An easy walk from the city centre. Wish I was a student again - it... More
