Glasgow has really changed - and this is just part of the centre that's really worth visiting. Nicely restored buildings with imaginative flair.

A great mix of restaurants and bars. You could eat in a different style every night for a week. We ate in mercado in the old fruit market and it was excellent. The atmosphere was great and it felt like eating outside even though we were inside in the heart of Glasgow. If you are in Glasgow its a great...

Merchant City definitely is the place to go out and eat or go to a bar in City Center. There is a good mix of very posh and humble places in this area that is in the process of being redone. It has the best selection of places to eat in the old downtown area of Glasgow.
Great atmosphere, various places to eat or just to have a drink and meet up and people watch. There is a nice little café just around the corner, can't remember the name but its an internet café as well and they sell the most delicious macaroons.
An interesting twist on classics but not too crazy. Welcoming and cosy restaurant, well worth a visit.
Spoilt for choice here, there a many eating and drinking houses. The central area is a good meeting and congregation point. Would recomend a visit there.
I never get bored wandering around my favourite part of this beautiful city. It is full of quirky, independant shops, cafes and galleries crammed with all sorts of desirables. If you like art, rummaging through vintage clothes, music, cafes that sell fabulous buns or just people watching then don't give Merchant City a miss.
All around the Merchant City there are decent places to eat and drink. Within a few minutes walk you can fine dine, drink at a fashionable bar robe in a proper Glasgow pub. There more to Glasgow than the Merchant City but the area is nice.
Good variety of places to eat and drink before attending a concert at the City Halls. Spacious, interesting architecturally, easy to find.
Brilliant pubs and restaurants. The atmosphere is always thriving, the bars and restaurants cater to different clientele. Also for those who are cash strapped to those who are not. My favourite chill out bar is Home, cheap as chips and serve lovely cheap food to Arta which is very flamboyant. Merchant City a must if visiting Glasgow
