Quite apart from the performance (which was good) the theatre itself was lovely, and our seats had masses of leg room. A good place to go.

Attended with friend to see Dr Faustus and really enjoyed the show particularly Siobhan Redmond as Mephistopheles. The tickets were inexpensive the seating was good albeit a little snug for modern day appetites/girth. Staff very helpful and friendly. Car parking is available although fills up quickly but Theatre is within 5-10mins of town so easy to get taxi if staying... More

I've been going to the Citz for more than 10 years and have rarely seen anything less than excellent - from home-grown plays to visiting productions. The seats could do with an upgrade, but this is underway (remember to make a donation to the seat refurbishment fund when you book and/or visit). The interior is beautiful and the size of... More

Having attended several productions over the years, (some even including my own niece in the cast :o) it's lovely to ensconce yourself in the comfy seats (some in the circle a bit tight for legroom however) and enjoy the theatre acts up close and personal. Teh absence of a front-stage orchestra pit means you are close to the performance, which... More

Great team working in the theatre. Very helpful and informative. We always enjoy our trips here. Shows are excellent but the night is made complete by the staff.

Been many times and seen some amazing productions. Been other times and witnessed some 'weird' stuff. Really like the place but as I have said in other theatre reviews, the seating is a bit cramped. The difference is, that the staff do their best to reseat you if at all possible. Looking forward to my next visit.

The programme or the Citz, as we like to call it, is well chosen, with new and old playwrights, events, pantos, one man/woman pieces. The atmosphere is old theatre, balconies, curtains, stage, all redolent of past times. The bars are well run, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the audience is lovely too. There are other things such as... More

Great theatre, and always good value for money. Ticket prices are always very reasonable, so you can afford to take the family on a theatre trip.

A theatre that is all a bit too precious. There are some good plays and some good actors in them but you get the impression that you are being done a favour by the inhabitants.
