A large green space which seems able to absorb large numbers of people. Enjoy the Chinese Garden and sit in the lakeside pavilion. It is a wonderful attempt at China in miniature

On May 3rd, we visited the Palace of Holyroodhouse in the morning and then made our way back to the mound place and took no 23 bus to the botanical garden east gate. it was a cold day with a steady drizzle, but the garden was terrific---from the rhododendrons at the entrance to the glass houses, and alpines and the... The beech allee alone makes the visit worthwhile ... no admission fee, either! We took a bus get-on-and-off as much as you'd like tour, and enjoyed this and every other stop.

It had the most amazing collection of rhododenrons! I didn't realize there were so many varieties. Lovely walking areas. Kid friendly with wide path ways to fit strollers. Good education center and fun for children to look at, (adults too). There were two food areas. We didn't have a lot of time to explore, but I hope I will be... More

The gardens are lovely. I enjoy taking pictures of all the different plants and flowers, guessing at some of the names and finding out which ones |I got right when I get back home and compare them with my plant books. There is always a lovely assortment of plants and foliage and the colours are magnificent. This is always a... More

Beautiful variety of areas to visit, indoor/outdoor. Even got some good ideas for our own garden. Lovely shop and cafe too.

Visited only for a short while but we will return as it is FREE! Looked at the Queen Mother Memorial Garden which even in mid April with a late Spring, was lovely. You only pay to go in the Victorian Glasshouses. Glorious space 20 minutes walk from the City Centre!

Fabulous place that I've loved since I was a child and regularly go there just to eat some lunch or read a book and enjoy the atmosphere. I especially love the rock garden. The glass houses are amazing and the plants and flowers from all over the world are fascinating. The Japanese Garden is lovely too. This is a great... More

When we are in Edinburgh we visit our daughter and family. Their apartment is near the Botanic Gardens and that is where we normally go for the day, if the weather is suitable. It is close enough to walk to the Gardens, and that is what we do. There is lots to see outside, and for a reasonable cost, one... More

I was excited to see the Glass Gardens. Well we lucked out and got in free due to renovations. The giant water lilies were a big draw for me. They were so amazing. Some were even blooming. The Gardens were full of blooming cherry trees and everything different was blooming this time. I could have spent all day. We also... More
