Liked; the views, the bird life (on nests, caring for young, on the sea), the friendly and knowledgable staff. Disliked. Nothing.

I have visited the lighthouse area on numerous occasions and it never fails to impress with its natural stunning beauty. A visit to the Lighthouse alas is not the for the feint hearted as there are over 400 steps leading to a causeway bridge to negotiate so thats over 400 down and then again back but well worth a visit... After arriving at the rspb visitor centre we were asked if we had thought about going to the lighthouse which isn't run by the rspb but they promote it. We purchased our tickets and off we went down the steps! The views are fantastic as you decend down the cliffs. We definitely chose a good day as it was calm,... More

First of all as others have mentioned there are a LOT of steps. But you can pause and admire the stunning views whilst secretly getting your breath back. We are only average fitness and managed it ok. It can be windy and cold so take a coat or something. So having said that, the place is awesome in the sense... More

Well worth the effor to visit. Spectacular views from the cliff tops. You have to be pritty fit to get down to the island. There are some 360 steps to decend and then climb back up. It's a bird watchers paradise.

We have just got back from an absolutely brilliant day out. Our two boys (aged 10 and 7) loved it. We did leave our 2 year old at home with relatives, as we thought the steps and walk down to the lighthouse would be too precarious for a toddler ... and we were right to do so!! Glorious sunshine helped... More
