Not a Myth but a true legend of Coventry, a beautiful statue that's well worth seeing along with a clock in this square. Make sure you're there just before the clock strikes the hour because it has automated figures of Lady Godiva and Peeping Tom that appear. Follow this with a trip to the Herbert museum, you will find the... More

I have to tell you...this statue is the highlight of my life. If it wasn't for Lady Godiva Coventry would not be worth living in. She is the soul of our city. What a woman!

I have ofcourse heard of Lady Godiva and dont know why but always presumed it was a myth. A naked lady riding through a town on horse back! Wow what a woman, she asked her husband the Earl of Coventry to reduce taxes of the local people. Apparently he said a flippant remark about seeing her ride through the streets... More

The focal point of the city centre and it's history is the statue. She stands proud on the plaza. It's amazing to think about what she tried to do all those years ago

Not many words can do justice to this iconic statue. People may find the city that it is in a bit drab, but all places have their downs as well as ups, so don't be put off and come and take a look at the history that this city has to reveal.

There she is - on her horse in the middle of the square! We'd almost forgotten about her story until we opened the window blinds in the morning and saw her on her horse presiding over the square!
