Fab day out for families with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of different birds to see as well as feeding the otters ! Different walks mean you could go again and see other things. It was easy to go just for the afternoon or we could have filled a whole day.

Hard to believe this little haven is just outside an industrial estate, but you really are out in the countryside with beautiful walks and loads of camera/photo opportunities. I go there once a month in all weathers. Its just a nice place to go with a nice walk amongst our feathered friends.

This is a really good place to visit for both young and old. Great layout, lots and lots to see, you can buy food to feed the birds, which children absolutely love. Staff are very informative with regular talks and games. Hides are strategically placed all around for you to view. You can take a picnic or they have a... More

This is a large site with a lot of feathered friends to see- you can easily spend a few hours here. It's nicely landscaped too, with large lakes and bird hides. There are a couple of nice walks to do around the perimeter, if you have a child that doesn't mind walking. Bird seed is available for those who like... More

I will own up to being a little bias about this attraction as it is on my doorstep, but this is an attraction that constantly evolves and never disappoints. The way the walks are set out, you can loose yourself for just a couple of hours, but head for the longer trails, taking your picnic and water and your full... More

Visit on Thursday and get corned beef pie(no horse). Even in our present freezing weather there are always sheltered walks. The staff are always cheerful and helpful. It's nice to sit on one of the many benches and be joined by friendly geese.

Hello and thank you for your lovely review. It's always great to hear feedback, especially positive comments from an intrepid visitor who will get outdoors whatever the weather! Re the baby flamingos - they were recently microchipped in anticipation of them leaving their temporary home at the duckery and joining our adult Chilean flamingo flock. They will have a few... More

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review following your visit today. I've passed your kind comments on to our (very pleased!) catering team. FYI - the wonderful view that you mention, which includes majestic Eurasian cranes, was made extra special this week following news that a pair of cranes bred and released by the team at WWT... More

Going up North for a short break my wife and I stopped off at Washington WWT on Thursday 7th March. First port of call was a meal but the only cooked one appeared to be Corned beef pie served with chips, peas and gravy costing over £7. Not cheap but tasty. There is a significant amount of ongoing work and very... More

I think this can provide for a great day out if you like wild birds and otters as they have two asiatic ones. There are lots of birds to see and to feed and the colours of the plummage can be spectaculor. The otters are fed at 3pm (and earlier I think) and it's impossible not to be enthralled by... More
