What lovely gardens. Even in April the gardens look good. Most of the plants and trees are labelled, which is useful, Nice and peaceful just to have a sit down and relax.

The gardens get better every year. There is a lot of space and the gardens are well laid out with interesting plants, trees and flowers. the pavilions are both architectural gems and places of considerable botanical interest. we go most weeks for at least one hour.

Parking difficult as no car park (park on the side of the road for free between 9.30-4). Free of charge to visit with plenty to see if you enjoy plants. The pavilion is inside with tropical plants from different regions of the world - plants labelled and easy to see, touch and smell). Outside plenty of bulbs tarting to appear... More

This is a lovely place to visit, flowers and plants in an abundance! Paths to suit all abilities and lots of places to sit and take in the smells and sights. Though it was early in the year there were still lots of things to see. very peaceful and a delight.

Okay, so it was one of the first sunny days of 2013, in APRIL! Well tended gardens. Only there half an hour as I'm not a big garden lover but do appreciate the work & effort. Grounds are beautiful for picnics and the elderly. Wheelchair friendly as far as I could see.

Lovely for a stroll. Grand restored hot houses (personally I miss the aviary with the parrot that bites your buttons off and the fish tanks (Sheffielder's will understand). Kids love the bear pit and room to run. Recent investment has paid off and it is a lovely place to be.

...which is why I love it and never get bored of visiting, however I do ask that if you have children, would you please refrain them from screaming in the peaceful surroundings- let them play football or frisbee on the grass, and yes, treat them to an ice-cream, because ice-cream is delicious!

We visited the Botanical gardens on a very windy April day and were really impressed with the beautifully restored Victorian pavilions. This was a nostalgic trip for me as I had spent many happy hours there as a student at the university. However, there seemed to be a lot of plants that needed attention of some sort or other, though there... More

I visited this Garden just yesterday because while I was business in Sheffield I think it is just brilliant. The array of flowers and plants are simply splendid! There two main sections to the garden one side is what I call the open field section which gorgeous low grasses that a family can have picnic or social interactions. We also... More
