good history of the railway , plenty of display and educational items well worth a visit
One of the great attractions about visiting the UK is the wide range of museums available. But what is more amazing is that many of its renowed museums do not charge an entrance fee despite being very well stocked and laid out. If you get the chance to go but you're undecided.. GO. It's free (unless you want to make a donation) and the Hogwarts Express from Harry Potter is there at the moment! There's so many cool things including a lot of trains, but also cafe and one of those motion ride things.
I went to the Museum today. I thought it was great and spectacular of how many exhibits there were. I also thought it was better that there is free entry aswell. A good family day out.
my husband was very entralled with the museam, and what it had to offer,i enjoyed his infectious attitude,i even learnt alittle about trains.
The Railway Museum was a great day out, for all the family, although there was only the the two of us ( no kids ). You don't have to be a train spotter or wear an anorak to be thoroughly entertained by a visit here. They do a mean plate of home-made soup... More
A good way to spend a few hours. Always changing lots to see for young and old

Britian is the home of World railways and the various exhibits tell the story of how we Brits invented and developed railways both here and then exported the ideas and equipment Worldwide. Most people will be only interested in the big shiny... More
