Relaxed, good to get away from the bustle of York city centre. Lovely flowers & trees, pretty blossom - May. Interesting ruins of the abbey & access to riverside walks. Plenty of space to sit around with a picnic.

Beautiful and tranquil gardens in the heart of the city. Lovely to walk around. really pretty all year round. Could imagine they get quite crowded in the height of summer with all the tourists.

Nice on a summers day for a stroll and maybe a mini picnic. Yorkshire museum reopened now so you can spend most of the day here.

If you're going to the Yorkshire Museum, you'll need to pass through the Gardens. But do take sometime to explore the Gardens, as there's some fascinating plants, trees and buildings to see. If the weather's good take a picnic and enjoy the lovely surroundings, whilst feeding the bold squirrels!

A nice walk through the gardens with a view of the river and the remains of an ancient monestry. Well worth a walk through. The pub at the other side is very good - The Bay Horse

Had superb weather which makes everything look better but the tulips and flower beds were lovely. It was peaceful and lovely to walk through and sit in.

Lovely little garden and ruins of an abbey. It was raining slightly when we were here but it was still lovely to look around. A nice little green space in the center of the city by the minster quarter. I would definitely recommend a look at this beautiful spot.

This was a super place and the weather was fabulous on Monday so there were lots of people in the gardens. Couples on the grass children playing and the flowers are so pretty. This is a really nice place to saunter through at a leisurely pace and just up the atmosphere. I loved it here!
