Tombland is a lovely cobbled area in Norwich.Ther are many small restaurants of character which are well worth a visit. This is an area just outside the Cathedral wall. When sitting there enjoying a coffee, you can take in the ambience of a lovely city. This is a good place to meet before exploring the SHOPS ! in the centre of Norwich.

If you visit tombland, spend some time looking at the architecture, and learning about this ancient meeting place. It puts Norwich into context. Several good eateries, two or three half decent pubs. A recommended place to visit. (oh, and the name has nothing to do with tombs either!!!)

We liked the whole atmosphere of the area. In a small triangle we had The Maids Head Hotel, The Edith Cavell and La Tasca not to mention a whole range of places we didn't stumble out off..... It was a sunny weekend and it was all good.

Walking around Tombland and Elm Hill is great if you use your imagination . The winding cobbled streets and mixture of buildings mean that you can envisage Norwich as it was in different periods of history. The map that we were given as part of a tourist information pack was not detailed enough and perhaps a more comprehensive guide is... More
