You MUST take the tube when you visit London. It seems a bit overwhelming and you can guarantee you'll get in someone's way but that aside, its quick, relatively straightforward and reasonably efficient, especially if you avoid the rush hour. I can be eye-watering expensive....but the thing is the more you travel the cheaper it is - so one off... More

By far the best way to get around London, but it is expensive. Clean, fast and regular but avoid central London at rush hour. Be careful because at weekends and holidays there is always engineering works and this can cause you a problem if you done make allowance.

I've spent in London several days this time & found the tube the easiest way of travelling there. It's worthy to buy Oyster card "Pay as you go", credit it with several pounds and then go. The coloured lines make you find your way very fast and it's almost impossible to get lost. Metro goes every 2-3 minutes, so if... More

The easiest way to travel around London. The coloured lines make it almost impossible to get lost. Can be a little bit expensive.

No better, easier, or more cost effective way to get around the entire London metropolian area than the Underground, or as Londoners call it the"tube". Try it, you will like it!

I seldom visit London, but recently spent a weekend there using the tube quite a lot. The main thing that struck me was how clean places are compared to a few years back. We were not delayed at any time over the weekend and found our way around very easily. It is nice to see that they are getting it... More

London tube Day-Pass only last till end of each day. If you buy it at 6 or 7 pm you can only use it till 12 mid. In Italy, the Metro day pass or boat pass in Venice, is valid for exactly 24 hours, from when you validate it. As tourists, we normally avoid Morning Rush, take late breakfast and... More

I visited London in early May and had a great time. One of the best experiences I had was on the Tube(Subway, I'm a New Yorker). The Tube was fast, efficient and clean. I was no more than a few stops from everywhere I wanted to go. This is the ABSOLUTE best way to get around London!

Almost certainly you'll have to take the subway to visit the whole city, so do not panic if you cannot understand the pattern of lines immediately, after just few hours it becomes really easy. The trains run every few minutes, very few, are clean and punctual and usually not too crowded. It is not cheap but you can buy one... More
