Myself and six friends set out for formby beach very early Sunday the 9th of June for a full day in the sun .. We arrived there at 9am of the morning to make a full day out of it .. During the morning we decided to go and get some food and water, on our way out we were... More

I don't know what beach other's have been writing about. The beach was filthy with broken glass, bags of rubbish, old barbeque's and the odd dirty nappy. It was revolting! We were warned as went in that the day before pretty much everyone had left their rubbish but were told they were going to be going round picking up the... More

this could be a very good beach if it wasn't for the discarded cans, instant barbeques, broken bottles, dirty nappies, plastic bags and the usual rubbish left behind by the moronic public that infest this area on a hot summers day. Also not an ideal place to take the family as there seams to be an over abundance of young couples... Looking forward to spending the day beach and we were stopped in our tracks as we walked over the impressive sand dune......the litter was DISGUSTING! There was food wrappers, used bbq's, empty beer cans and bottles.....Before we could settle down i filled a carrier bag with other peoples rubbish just to clear a safe area for my child to play.... This was our first visit to Formby National Trust Park and boy were we impressed. It was very clean, the walks through the park are immense, the picnic areas were vast and it all led down to the beach, miles of unspoilt, clean beach. Very impressed.

Great to walk the dogs and keep the young brothers entertained. Can't beat going the beach on a warm march day buying an ice cream and enjoying the views

Found there to be more information re walking than expected so that was a plus. Very clean and the facilities were good. Great walk down the beach and across the dunes. AOnly down side was we didn't see any squirrels.

A great and clean beach that is perfect for walking, jogging or just a lazy sunbath. Good access via the dunes. Nice for sunsets...

It costs £5 to park for the day at the beach. There are toilet facilities, picnic and a place selling coffee in the forest and also a red squirrel walk. Children love the vast area of sand but do check for the tides. Plenty of little pools for children to paddle in and lots of shells for them to find.... More
