I agree with Maxine b I was here end of April and everything closed except for the coffee shop. No atmosphere so went somewhere else for coffee. Such a shame as it is a beautiful theatre. Also On another day the same week the whole theatre was closed except for the booking office.

Everything except a coffee shop was closed off to the public, and it was May, so would have expected more to be going on/open. Really quite disappointing considering the positivity I have heard in the past.

This is our second visit to the Opera House both times to see Michael Ball. It is perhaps a bit big if you were watching a play or musical as we were in row z in the stalls and it is a bit far away that some details of a play etc would be lost. To view an artist (as... More

Went to see Michael Ball at the Opera House in April. Inside the Winter Gardens which is a fantastic building from the outside, I was expecting the inside to be as impressive. It's not. Must be the most drab theatre venue I've seen for some time. Nothing special at all, and such a dull colour scheme. Having said that once... More

We went to see Simple Minds on 19th April and were seated in the balcony, a great view from up here, wouldn't have wanted to see a play from that height for for a concert we couldn't fault it.

Visited the Opera house for the first time to see Simple MInds on the 19th April. Didn't really know what to expect but it delighted as a setting. The staff were all very friendly, even allowing the concert goers outside for a smoke during the intermission. I was in the circle, near the middle four rows back. Great seats, could... More

Nice small theatre , the bar was no too overpriced although they only sold pints not halves. We were sat in circle directly facing stage excellent seats. Staff helpful but not obtrusive. We would come to a show/ concert here again

Very good venue and great atmosphere, the opera house is very dated though and could do with a lick of paint
