Derwentwater is in the perfect location - surrounded by fells and mountains on all sides. The views across the lake are stunning and even on a busy night during the Keswicjk Mountain Festival there is peace and tranquility there.
Superb walk along the Lake to the Lodore Hotel for lunch catching the launch back to Keswick, very enjoyable and the weather was gorgeous.
We stayed in Keswick for 4 nights and toured around most the lakes in the Lake District - Derwentwater is definately the most stunning! We took one of the launches to head towards Catbells and took the long way round as it was a beautiful day and we could enjoy the water and surrounding scenery. Its absolutely beautiful.

Even on a wet and cool day the lake is always worth a visit. You'll be surprised how fast the water flows from Derwent Water to Bassenthwaite Lake.

One of the must see Lakes views - the scenery from the park is truly spectacular and even better with snow on the mountain backdrop. Avoid the crowds it really does look better on a crisp February morning.

We live down south and were visiting family in Cumbria - I really felt like I was in a different country while visiting Keswick! Incredible surroundings,...
