We were lucky that the sun decided to shine on one of the days of our visit and the beach attracted a good crowd. The atmosphere is relaxed and there is a great vibe as people relax and enjoy the range of bars and shops along the beach front.
Brightons beach is a must as it is the heat of the city. As soon as the weather is good enough it s packed with people and the best place to be. Along the walk are numerous cafes and bars for all tastes.
Although it is not the best beach in the country,(leave that to the cornish please)and pebbly too,its saving grace is what is actually on the front itself. We often walked along from the pier down the stairs and all the way through passing the various little shops set back in the arches as well as the bars too. When the sun is...

brighton beach is a long beach but very stoney and not my cup of tea but still not a bad one so give it a try and make your own mind up
We loved the seafront we walked the length of it from our hotel opposite the old pier to the cutrrent pier. The traders alomg the beach were really good to look at and we loved the bars so you could sit and enjoy the sun that we had. They all such a good atmosphere almost cintinental feeling.
Love the arches, love the kid's parks and splashpools, great bars and restaurants and lovely clean and well kept beach and promenade.
we had a great day just wandering around the lanes and walking along the prommenade eating icecream and listening to all the great buskers around the town we were waiting to catch a plane and we killed 4 happy hours before catching the train out to gatwick
I guess it is good that people have a beach to go to with family and friends on a summers day. It was gold wet and windy when I was there but I can imagine how the atmosphere would change during the holiday season. Great to see.
Free Entry and deck chairs, Nice stroll to the end of the Pier all the usual fairground attractions plus booths for food
