My wife and I went to Norden car park for the trip to Swanage by the steam railway with our dog on Monday 3rd June. We paid the price of £10-50p each for the return journey plus £1 each way for our dog having paid also at the car park some £3 for the day. The trip is novel and... More

A wonderful trip! IT great to be on a real train again....It took us back to our childhood in the fifties and the service from the staff was excellent. IT was nice to see a real guard blowing a whistle and waving a flag.

My wife and I jumped aboard the Bistro train last night and what a treat we had. All of the staff were brilliant and extremely welcoming. The food was home made and delicious and simply excellent value for money. We felt like a million dollars as we watched the scenery slowly pass by whilst we were waited on by the... More

I use the Swanage Railway on a regular basis whist out walking. Its ideal to leave your car at Corfe Castle or Norden and catch the train back after a lovely walk. All the stations are great and the volunteer staff are really good fun as well as being helpful. They often have different locomtives and although I'm no train... More

We planned in our train ride as part of a day cycling in the area. we parked at Norden park and ride, which was £3.00 for the day, you can walk to Corfe caste from here very easily. We cycled from here on the rempstone ride, starting at the car park and travelling via heathlands and woodlands to the coast... More

My husband was able to fulfil a long held ambition to drive a Deltic diesel train at Swanage Railway. It's not cheap, and there are only a couple of days a year that they do it, the weekend after the Diesel Gala. But for him and the other men who did it, they all had a huge smile on their... More

My husband and I love going to Swanage and this time decided to splash out on the Saturday night 5 course meal on a steam train - 2 trips to Corfe Castle and back while eating very tasty food and spotting deer, a hare, cows, pheasants and Corfe Castle in the twilight during the course of the evening. The red... More

Every time I visit such railways it takes me back to my first job when leaving school in the final days of steam on British Railways. This preserved line is one of the best especially around Corfe with its views and history. Where would Swanage be today without the foresight of the railway preservationist.
