Enjoyed walking through the city, and down to the Barbican, seeing fascinating historical buildings and locations. Good selection of places to eat. I enjoyed a very nice meal in a Himalayan restaurant in and Elizabethan House!

Plymouth was the most heavily bombed southern port in WW2 and was reconstructed in the 1950's with none of the charm of European construction. Sadly it's buildings in the city centre are charmless relics of a bygone age. That is not to say here aren't some gems left; The Hoe and the Barbican for example, however they are let down...

Plymouth holds no special interest for me, afraid it feels like another big unfriendly city, with not much beauty to see. i sometimes have to drive through to get to cornwall, i dread the thought

it depend when you go as in the night for excample 10pm plymouth is realy rough but in the day it is good for shopping and lunch

Wonderful city of contrasts. Superb places of historic interest,great night life,restaurants and bars. The Barbican is superb for all this and more. A city to visit time and time again.

I went to Plymouth for a quick holiday weekend and it was a blast. Tons of beautiful scenic water views. Lots of pubs and dining in the city, (although heels and cobblestone roads dont mix). Probably the coolest thing for me, being American, is seeing the steps where the 1st pilgrims came over from England to America. Very awesome!

Plymouth is good for a visit. For shopping, Drake circus has most of the big outlets, plenty of shops to wonder around in plymouth. Pubs, resturants, and theatres, good open spaces, good public transport. A great place for views is the Hoe, lovely open space with cafe and mini golf. The plymouth eye is on the Hoe, with fantastic views...
