Relax or surf. Lovely beach. Very peaceful to sit with a book listening to the waves or to brave the waters and try out a little surfing.

I have been returning to St Ives for many years and Porthmeor beach has everything, from great sand, great scenery, wonderful waves (for surfing of any type) and great facilities which keep on getting better. A place to sit, soak up the sun and chill!

Some of the best beaches in the UK, views are stunning. Walking to the top of the 'The Island' which adds a new dimension to the views. This is must!

St Ives tends to have its own micro climate. Extremely cold and windy in winter but from April until September/October it is usually warm and sunny here, even if cloudy and wet just across the bay. Porthmeor is often 'fresher' than Porthminster but not quite so crowded. Close to town but with an 'out of town' feel. Ideal for families... More
