If you enjoy flying, planes, and space, you'll think you've died and gone to heaven. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here, but what made it exceptional was the tour led by docent, Sig Crossland. There are tours led twice a day and I would strongly advise you to take one of these tours. They don't just breeze you through and... More

This would have to be one of the best air and space museums on the planet. You could easily spend a full day there, with interests one the entire family. Admission is free once you pay for parking $15.00, there are food facilities there as well. Very much recommended for anyone interested in aviation.

This is an amazing museum! The breadth and quality of the displays are truly amazing. (Mind you if you are not into aviation it may be a trifle boring! Be warned!). I am so I absolutely loved it. There are so many history making items on display that it is almost impossible to pick highlights. Every corner you turn reveals... More

It's hard to believe how insignificant you feel when you walk into the hangar where the 'Discovery' is housed. What an awesome sight!! Its covering of tiles was a real eye-opener for me. There are so many things to see in this three story museum. I enjoyed seeing a small medical helicopter, a bit newer than the ones shown in... More

The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near Washington is a museum you can't afford to miss. The three level center has engines, helicopters, ultra-lights, flight simulators, and experimental flying machines including the space shuttle Discovery, the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, Boeing B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay and the F-22 and X-35 fighters. This place is awesome for everyone who loves everything related to... More

I am a little biased because Washington DC is one of my favourite cities, but I really think you'd be hard pressed to find a city in the US as beautiful and with such a variety of wonderful cultural sights, one the highlights of which is the Air & Space museum. I have visited Washington DC twice and this has... More

Our group of 13 (all adults) had scheduled a private, docent led tour of the Air & Space Museum. This tour is not for the faint hearted or for those unable to stand and walk for long periods of time. The tour lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes and was led by an incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic docent. He covered... More

Of course the Smithsonian exhibit is awesome, but I'd skip the control tower 'tour' next time especially if there is a line. They move people up and down very slowly and there's not much to see. The guy talking about the air traffic controllers looping recording is ok and the view is ok, although not much to see but woods... More

Gigantic hangar full of famous and fabulous aircraft, including the Enola Gay, the Gossamer Albatross, and the Space Shuttle. Has a McDonald's inside, and a nice gift shop.

We enjoyed the visit. There are a lot of airplanes, rockets. And some displays are historically significant; Aircrafts in early age, rare German, Japanese military aircrafts, B-29 which bomed Hiroshima, Some missiles which represent Cold War era in 1950's and Space Shuttle. If you are interested in aircrafts, you must visit there.
