St Andrews is known more for golf than mountain biking, but if you have ever toured the New Brunswick woods on a bike you might wonder why. Local heart-throb Kurt Gumushel takes all levels of cyclists on tours of the town and surrounding nature. He took us on a plaid-protected ride across the ocean floor (at low tide) to Minister's... While our trip was after the mountain bike season "officially" ended, Kurt rented us bicycles to use during our vacation. While rains did cut short our riding, the trail that he recommended was fun and would have been a great ride at a different time of year. The bikes provided were Cannondale and on very good condition. Of course he... More

This bike tour gave my daughter and I an up close and personal view of St. Andrews from the main street to the back woods. Kurt, our tour guide, could have been challenged trying to balance the skills of a 61 year old and a 21 year old, but he managed to set a course we could both manage.....loved it... More

My husband and I are avid cyclists and I came across a bike tour company in St. Andrew when I was researching activities for us to do. We signed up for the two hour tour and lucked into some great cycling weather. Kurt, owner and tour guide, quickly assessed our abilities and took us on a fabulous single track trail... More

What a great way to discover St-Andrews. I am not a mountain bike rider but this ride was nice, adapted to our skill and what a scenic view of the Bay!!! Thank you Kurt!

I can't believe i sat in bars and libraries and on couches all that time when I coulda been out on one of those frikkin raants with Kurt Gumushel. It was a transformer...a new vision...it brought meaning to life. ANd, I thought I could beat him...still think i can...maybe next time....seeing that old bath house of VanHorne days and zoomin... St. Andrews is a pretty little town on the Bay of Fundy, and the best way to see it is on a bike tour with Off-Kilter Bikes. The quirky part is that owner Kurt and his crew hand out kilts to wear over your bike shorts or tights, but that's all part of the fun of this informative, fairly easy... More

We Met Kurt at a coffee shop on water street. We biked towards the point, and were soon on an old rail bed, heading out towards our destination on Minister's Island. This ride was awesome...there was a fine mist surrounding the island (which you can only access via land bridge at low tide). The trails running through the fields and... More
