This trail is quite short but the views are stunning when you get to the top. The trail is really well marked out and safe for people of all ages.
You need to be very fit to do this trail as it is quite hard going. Not for the faint hearted. I managed it to the top to see the fabulous view. Not good for any one with back or hip problems but great for the younger fitter ones!!
its a beautiful walk through the forest and nice and cool under the trees on a hot summer day. Just enough ups and downs to keep it from being literally a walk in the park. Nice for family walks and you can go for as far or as short a hike as you would like. Good break from being trapped... More
The trail started as a 1967 Centennial project by local Boy Scouts and stretches the width of Vancouver's North Shore, from Horseshoe Bay in the west to Deep Cove in the east. It is a rambling, up and down experience, above the house line that marks the 1200-foot level on the North Shore mountains. Much of the trail is through... More
We have completed 2 legs of a 5 leg hike of the Baden Powell. We will start at the top of Mountain Hwy and continue next month. Good things cannot be rushed. Started at Deep Cove and looking forward to our completion at the end of the summer.
Not an easy trail... I did it only for Quarry rock and it eaten out me!!! However once you reach top it feels worthwhile ... fantastic view from the top of querry rock... Be safe, people take it easy and try to go down/edge the rocks however its steep vally ahead of it without barrier, so really be safe...
Our first hike up the trail to Quarry Rock from Deep Cove this year was mid afternoon on a warm and sunny spring day.The route was packed with people of all ages and fitness levels. Parking in Deep Cove was also hard to find so I would recommend an early start to fully enjoy the experience. For first time visitors... More
These series of trails is great if you happen to be in the area. The trails are vast and swerve around several neighborhoods, parks and schools in North Van. Still, it is the woods, and should not be traveled alone as there is still wildlife out there.
I remember hiking on this trail with my Girl Guide group years ago and really enjoyed it. Sunny days are the best for this walk as the trail is nice and dry and not slippery. I nice get away from the busy city but be sure to go only during the daytime and well before it gets dark!
A great trail that takes you up to a fabulous view of Indian Arm from Quarry rock, and then goes on for the serious hiker all the way to Horseshoe Bay. The trail is far from flat with numerous lumpy tree roots acting as an irregular stairway providing lots of ankle turning opportunities, so I would say it is not... More
