Very picturesque. Lots of places for you to set up a picnic (they have a few tables or you can just bring a blanket or just lie in the grass like we did!) Not a lot of cover so if it's very sunny bring a hat and lots of sunscreen. There is a nice path from the board walk along... More

Really enjoyed our stroll around the grounds, the free tour and views from the top of the Citadelle. Be sure to dress warmly or in layers- the wind up here at this site is always prevalent and some days very cold! There is wind here always- even in the hot summer.

Small garrisons of a Canadian regiment now stays in the citadel and there is nothing great to see. They have hourly conducted tours inside for a fee where they will narrate the history of the Citadelle. Good for the history buffs and photographers.

The citadelle is a military garnison, even in our days. It's impressive as a construction. Definitely worth visiting. There's a fee if you want to take the guided tour inside it.

Take a guided tour and get lots of good information about the Army unit's history at a still active Army base.

Very informative tour. While we waited for our tour, a number of other groups finished up, everyone smiling and everyone clapping to thank their guide. Our guide (Pierre) was excellent and definitely knew his history. It would have been nice to have a tour longer than one hour, as it wasn't enough time to see everything. One of the best... More
