Although many of the towers on the Plains of Abraham are used as pump stations, one is actually a museum. Stairs leads you either up or down inside the structure, giving access to 3 floors. These huge stone structures were fortifications built by the British for defensive purposes in the early 19th century. I toured one in Quebec City which overlooked the St. Lawrence River. They are several stories high and have a lot of room inside. It is worth an hour or two to tour one of these structures.
