Close view of the lake, but otherwise just a boardwalk. Shops, restaurants, etc. are a few blocks away. Lots of bugs and interesting characters (one guy out with his pet snake!).

It is very pleasant place in such as big city. Of course I wouldn't travel to Toronto just for going to The Beaches but if you are there for a long period you find in this area many occasion to relax and do sport.
Always go to the Beaches when in Toronto - just love to walk along the lake side and enjoy the sun. The restaurant is in the throes of being redecorated and should be open by July 2013
Great homes are all within walking distance to Boardwalk on the Lake. Kew Park & Gardens welcoming. Dog park on beach. Great shops on Queen Street. Balmy Beach Club has great deck overlooking lake....private club however. So close to the centre of Toronto, but a world away in atmosphere.
Just bit away from the downtown core is this wonderful place, like another town inside the city! family friendly, laid-back atmosphere. Best to visit in the summer of course - other season is way to cold for me....

Area residents take pride of this area known as "The Beach". Whether if one is walking on Queen Street or walking the boardway on Lake Ontario. There are nice parks in the area and have different festivals going on througout the year. Glad that the police also raided the local biker club and they are no longer there. Certaiinly help...

I've explored The Beaches with kids in Toronto Fun Places, 5th ed. and with girlfriends in Toronto Urban Strolls 1 & 2. I've seen it at all times of the year and the day. With locals, with visitors from out of town. Every time, our outing has been a success. Park on the small streets further east, north or south...

Not the best beaches in the world, but its nice to be near the water - the better part about this attraction is the area "The Beaches" and the shops all along Queen Street when you get there.
Lots to see and do here, from Ashbridge Bay, vibrant Queen St, to the RC Harris water filtration plant at Munro - the boardwalk, marina, parks, childrens playground, sport facilities, skateboard area, bbq spits, eateries, plus exotic old architecture mixed with the new eclectic. In winter the area is usually dead, but from spring the area really becomes alive -...
