Seeing the Falls is great, but you will be surprised by the wind and roar generated by the falling water when you approach the base of the Falls. Try to stand at the front if the boat if possible.

Loved this and so did the kids. I think we squealed the whole time. The wait was hardly anything at all on the Canada side. :)
This is a must do experience. Visited on a Monday in early June so no wait for the boat and not at all crowded. Expect to get wet particularly lower legs and feet. Trip lasts about 20 minutes and gets as close as you would want to be to the Horseshoe Falls.
If you go to the falls you have to go on Maid of the Mist. As mentioned in all reviews it is amazing to get that close to them. Also, as noted, you will get very wet, so consider how warm it is if you're going to go. The thing I expected but still didn't like was how crowded it...

You board your boat downstream from the falls, either on the USA side or on the Canadian side. You put on a blue poncho (tip: tie the bottom ends together, from front to back; this will keep the poncho from ballooning up in the wind as you approach the falls). You pass by the American Falls and see the entrance...

When they tell you to cover up because it will be a wet ride, take their advice. You are given a semi-rain cover for this little adventure. And be sure to know that you are going to get WET. You are taken on a tugboat right to almost underneath the Horseshoe Falls. You can feel the power of the water...

I think there are way to many people on the boat, My boyfriend and I couldn't even get a good view from any point just because we were one of the last people on the boat so there were no good places to stand. We were with stuck at the bottom standing behind a bunch of people, I think they...

We arrived at 9.30am on a Saturday morning, the attraction doesn't open until 9.45- and people were queuing waiting for the ticket office to open. The queuing system is push and shove so be prepared for it; rude groups of tourists with their guides seem to think they don't need to queue and just push their was through the middle-...

Though the price tag is $19.95 ea Canadian, it is worth every penny. Prepare to be wet, though you will get a poncho. The American falls are a treat but sitting surrounded by the horseshoe falls bathed in its spray and overwhelmed by its rumbling is awesome. The rookery in between is neat too. Waterproof protection for your camera is...

Great experience to get up close and personal to the falls. Felt a bit like sardines on those tiny boats. They provide you with rain coat, but still be prepared to be soaking wet !
