4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2013 NEW

We visited out of season and usually there is nothing to see until the season starts. However we were allowed to go in and see the new museum. It is small but packed with interesting interactive exhibits and is going to be a big improvement at the site. Not sure how much it will add to the price but I... More

If you have interest in military or Canadian history then this is a must do in Kingston. The views are also pretty cool up there and when they do the guards and re-enactments its awesome

The fort was great but with few people around who work there and the discover centre closed, it was not worthwhile visiting until the main tourist season opens around the May 2-4 weekend. Lots of parking, even for buses or trailers, and a great view. Not much else around that area though. Expect congestion on the causeway to/from the main... More

The admission price is a bit pricey to get into Fort Henry, but we did really enjoy our visit there. Be sure to catch the "drill" show they do in the center quad... it was terrific, especially after we learned that these were students just doing this job for the Summer. Also, take advantage of the guided tour. They shared... More

An excellent reminder of Canada's British Heritage and the efforts made to protect Upper and Lower Canada from takeover by the Americans. As with the War of 1812, construction and manning of the Fort was a wholly British initiative despite the hype created by Canada's current government.

It was late in the evening, on a cooler fall day, we decided to skip the fort (it was booked for an event anyway) and just had a picnic facing the Kingston Harbour. There was hardly anybody as we admired a beautiful sunset on the quiet water. You can walk around the fort and get inspired by the historical significance... More

We got into Fort Henry for free by first visiting Upper Canada Village so be sure to check the website for deals. We would have been annoyed if we had paid $15pp. The tour of the fort was good but that was literally all there was to see there. The VC is super, however. It has all kinds of interactive... More

Has to make up its mind whether it is a real historical site or a site of entertainment. There is an attempt to replicate the past, but too many concessions are made to the present for it to work. The physical structures are good, but what is done by the players creaks too much for it to be a true... More

Incredable Historylesson for all Canadians. The young people that work there in the summer amazing and their Fright Nights are to scary for me to go to

A great addition to the various programs offered at Fort Henry. Stories were very well told and the atmosphere was right to make you believe the undead were following along with you and might jump out at any moment.
