The Cabot Trail is one of the most beautiful streets I have seen. The combination of coastal road and mountain road is perfect. The view over the Atlantic, then after the next turn one has a spectacular view on the Cape Breton Highlands National Park - perfect! Unfortunately the pavement outside the park area is poor.

We've driven the Trail several times and have never failed to be impressed and amazed. Others have said to take at least a day to do it properly, and I agree. We've done it both clockwise and counterclockwise, and I have to say that I prefer the counter. Definitely plan on stopping in Ingonish and Neils Harbour for pictures. You... More

I travel the Cabot Trail at least 8-10 times a year. I am fortunate to live on this great island and take advantage of this privilege. You MUST set aside a whole day to do the trail properly. I strongly recommend going in a counter clockwise loop, starting at the Englishtown ferry. This will give you the most sunlight and... More

We did the Cabot Trail in a Day and a half. We camped over night and did whale watching in the morning (only $20). the trail was beautiful and the drive was easy. I would highly recommend doing this trip!

There's nothing I didn't like on this trip. If you're going to the Maritimes, you have to go here. Just Google it - the photos aren't even close to doing it justice!

Had a fantastic time enjoying great views and breathtaking nature. The drive is a little long and it is very windy in some parts.

Great drive . We drove here all the way from Halifax . Great scenery. Ate oysters at a stop. I saw a seal in water from a lookout . I really want to go back . I miss the scenery. This is a must. Until next time trip advisor folks. Bye!

We drove the Cabot Trail in August 2012. It was beautiful!! Don't miss this part of Canada!!! We stayed 2 nights. This was perfect, however, if you want to do more walking trails, a third night would be better. We did 3 walking trails and a whale watching adventure. Unfortunately, the water was very rough, and we didn't see any... More

Living on the Atlantic stretch of the Cabot Trail, I get to experience its beauty every day. We particularly enjoy the off-the-beaten-path hikes and walks in and around St.Ann's Bay: The Indian Brook Wilderness with its myriad of waterfalls and swimming holes; the Red Island Trail, an easy walk through typical Cape Breton forest, along several bodies of water, including... Once on the trail it's hard to leave. People should be granted a stay for any length of time they can muster!
