Here, among a superb array of artifacts, you will find fascinating displays on Pirates, Heritage Vessels, Shipwrecks and Featured Exhibits. It is also home to three very singular sailboats − Dorothy, Trekka and Tilikum − each with their own incredible story of adventure and enchantment. « less

This museum covers several floors and contains a lot of history. There is information about pirates and sailing ships as well as modern vessels. There are several cannon as well as a boat that sailed around the world. The place contains a deep sea diver's outfit and models of vessels. There is a reciprocating engine that actually works when one... More

We went at the end of a busy day with our 3 kids, 4yrs - 11yrs. The couple at the front desk were sweet and welcoming - they were tolerant of the kids being a bit grumpy and gave them a 'gold' treasure coin at the end of the visit. The Museum is fascinating with lots of detail and interesting... More

I visited this museum recently and enjoyed the visit very much. There were different exhibits on historical voyages to the area, and more recent exhibits on marine engines, B.C. Ferries, the Canadian Coast Guard and lighthouses in the area, work done by Chinese Canadians in the maritime industry, a small boat built in the area and sailed all the way... More

Nice little museum with lots of displays and ship-models. You might not want to go there with younger kids, however, if you are interested in the maritime history of BC, got there. Worth seeing is also the elevator and the court room, which alone a worth a visit.

This is a find. Old Courthouse and Maritime History combined. Displays are great and so is staff/interpreters. Why does the Provincial Govt. charge this organization for the space AND not fund them - shameful!

This museum really does show case BC history. I have read many books on maritime disasters and the role that boats played. There are many models of differant ships. A person who has a love for marine history can easly spend hours here and not even be aware of how time goes by. It is to bad they could not... More
