Not only is this a great beach for swimmers, being an off-leash beach as well, it's a great place to take your four legged friend. Being a large, mostly submerged bank, you can walk in ankle to knee deep water for a long ways out into the ocean.

Superlative sandy beach! I lived near Spanish Banks for several years and have wonderful memories of being there with family and friends at low tide. Children can play in pools left by the ocean when the tide is out. Observe Bald Eagles sitting on sand bars, small fish darting around tide pools, and smiling people. The life guards do their...

Never tire of Spanish Banks and in my semi-retired life I have to drive the length of it several times a week on my way to UBC and back home. From family picnics as a child, high school beach parties and beyond, the memories are there. There's always something to stop and look at - every day is different depending...

We can never come to Vancouver without going for a drive along Spanish Banks. Also a great place to eat fish and chips while watching the water, the boats in the harbour and the seagulls flying by.
Great views of both shores, calm beach for wading. Very clean restrooms, and a area for showering after a day in the water.
This is a great swimming and walking beach. As well, part of the Vancouver cycle path. The sunsets can be stunning given the right conditions, and during the day the views of the North Shore and downtown are great, even in all but the most grey days.
amazing view even when the day was not as nice as I want to be. Some dog owners were ignorant but most people were very conciderate and polite
Its a great Dog Friendly beach, especially at low tide. You can walk out several hundred meters on the mud flats. i recomend very waterproof foot wear, like wellingtons.
Bring a delcious coffee and admire the view. It is a wonderful place to see the inlet, and to be outside, listening to the birds and water. I find it peaceful all year, a delight to swim and paddle in summer with clean, friendly beaches.
The view. The walks. The view. The bike ride. The view. The logs. The view. The ten minutes with an ice cream. The view. The rain on the windshield and the moments piece. The view. A few pages in a chapter. The view. The view. The driveby. The view. The memories.
