The Galt Museum is an excellent venue to review the history of Lethbridge. And it is interactive - therefore children enjoy the exhibits as well. My grandsons couldn't get enough of sitting on the train and watching the pictures of Lethbridge. I think the Galt Museum has something for everyone and I want to go back soon. Thank you Galt... I don't mind paying admission to a museum but when I pay admission and have to deal with about 100 kids running around doing crafts in one end of the building, and some type of event on the other end, and this isn't a long building by any stretch of the imagination, I just wanted to leave! I still went... More

Thanks very much for your review; we're sorry we didn't meet your museum expectations. Weekdays [school tours, especially plentiful in May and June] and early Saturday afternoons are now indeed very busy at the Galt; our hour-long Saturdays at 1:00 program for families has certainly grown in popularity. This weekly program moves to weekdays [Wednesdays or Thursdays] in June-September this... More

We took a friend from Jamaica to the Galt museum and she was amased at all the history shown in one place. We spent quite a bit of time there and she said that if she comes back to Canada, she wants to come back to see what's new. P.S.-I am a Galt Baby.

Was not near as interesting as was let on when we paid. There was one exhibit about lethbridges history. and a few photographs downstairs. There was a function going on and was rather loud. Kids were running around everywhere, unsupervised. For a museum, it just wasnt my cup of tea.

The museum is open until 9 pm on Thursdays. We noticed the building returning to our hotel on Wednesday night - it is very pretty lit up by lights. I arrived at about 6:30 and it was a busy place. There was a meeting of the Friends of Medicare and a presentation by someone from the Royal Tyrell Museum on... More

This museum is always interesting although it is small. The staff are friendly and approachable. The indoor exhibits are easily read and well designed. Not a lot for children to participate in although one of the local service groups had an activity outside of the exhibits--no mention as to whether or not the museum customers were allowed to participate-we didn't... The Galt Museum is an under utilized gem in Lethbridge. They have family programs that run on Saturdays. Adult programs on Thursdays. The programs are educational, informative and a lot of fun for people of all ages. There is also archives downstairs. Displays on the main level. Very rich in history and information.

did not find this place too interesting or exciting. They do run seasonal or themed exhibits, the parking is good, and the view is fantastic. However, there was nobody there at all but us and we didnt even encounter a staff member while walking around. It was like touring a mortuary, and equally as exciting.
