My work is one block off of Whyte Ave and there is just about everything you need in walking distance. Great food and the environment is its own. A must visit for anyone, several times.

I liked the locally owned shops there that I would not be able to find anywhere else. I liked watching the foreign films at the historic Princess Theatre.

By and large, Edmonton is ho hum. However, on our last day there, with time to kill, we headed for Whyte Ave; and the city redeemed itself. Whyte Ave is actually several blocks of 82 street, and is a slice of "old" Edmonton, with funky shops and vibey restaurants. It has loads of atmosphere with an eclectic mix of grunge,... More

Lots of distractions while the women shop. I did happen upon Blackbyrd Myoozik, picked up some vinyl I couldn't find in Vancouver.

Always love to stroll the Avenue in spring and summer. Great for funky gifts or just for people watching. Love to go to the Farmer's market on saturdays.

Whyte Ave is an OK spot when the sun is shining. Some interesting shops, the usual chain coffee joints, unoriginal and uninsipred restaurants. Not a bad place to spend an afternoon, but I've seen it done better in almost every major city I've been to. For Edmonton, which has little to no cosmopolitan appeal, it's really the only show in...
