In the past few years this lovely garden has gone downhill. Paths are available to wander in and out of lots of trees, plants, but there is a sense of disuse and allowing overgrowth and disinterest in keeping it up.

We visited the jardin botanico and noticed that it works fine but with extreme bureocracy, as any government entity. I do volunteer work at our arboretum here, so wanted to see the state botanical gardens in PR. It was January and not much was in bloom. And little is labeled. There are also few signs giving information. The gardens are free, but a bit tricky to find when taking the bus and train.

We went on a tour to the garden which included transportation around the garden on a golf cart. Because if the size of the garden, it was very helpful being driven around. El Jardín Botánico is located at Río Piedras Puerto Rico, and it offers a diversity of flora and fauna in a small place. It also have on saturdays different classes such as yoga and pilates. Its a nice, quiet and peaceful place.

The statewide public university has its main offfices in this garden set in the middle of San Juan, along a river and small forest. Excellent place to enjoy nature. A bit away from it all, need a taxi to get there. Here you can find excellent examples of tropical flora and enjoy a relaxing time.
