We had a ton of fun walking around here and going through shops and snacking on ice cream and other stuff. The fort is very cool and gives you the sense of being there.
There are lots of restaurants and an open beer-garden style area to sit, have a drink and people watch. Some shops as well, but I would say this place is best for eating/drinking. Our favorite restaurant in here was called "Steak and Ribs". The Grouper skewers were so good, we went back to this place twice!
Alot of Tourists at this shopping area, its like a big outdoor shopping mall. Its the first thing the most of the Cruise ship travellers meet when they come to Willemstad. But its nice if you like shopping or relax with a coffe or beer.
Riffort Village is a upscale shopping/dining area near the Renaissance Hotel and Casino....good place to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. However, the ice cream shop there is the best.....next door they are making real Dutch waffles....you order one in the ice cream shop and they make it next door and sent it over....then top with ice cream, fruit, chocolate,... The transformation they did of the Rif Fort into what can be summarize as a "mall" was amazing. There is shopping galore, as well as some outstanding selections of restaurants. A very lively outdoor lounge is the place to be in the evenings. Be sure to check it out.

It is definitely something worth seeing on a trip to the island but not a priority. Steak and ribs is... More
Starbucks nearby and shops galore this is the place to go. Great restaurants providing a variety of food for all tastes.
My husband and I honeymooned in Curacao and passed through Rif Fort early in the day, so most things seemed closed. We were happier that way, because we were more interested from a historical point of view anyway. We walked up the stairs and enjoyed the view, very relaxing.
If you are looking for the comforts of home, stop here! We found ourselves there several times, looking for breakfast at Starbucks and the renaissance, watching a movie and peeking in a few of the shops. This is where the mega cruise ships dock. The amount of patrons noticeably pick up when the cruise ship is docked, so check the... More
The Riffort was a nice escape when we wanted to shop in the more upscale places. It was small but it's a good entrance in to the Renaissance shoppes and casino area.
