If you into history and particulary about sea and boats, this place would be a nice one to visit. Although it's not huge museum, it is pretty rich in in history. Dating from 1499 onward. Very interesting place.

Its a modern three floors building with all kinds of vessels during a long history. Also you can see the history of the dutch navy during their stay on the island and some wreck findings. Don't forget to book a tour in the afternoon in the harbour at the reception. It gives you a good overview of the martime economy of...

The museum had some interesting information. I wish they talked more about the floating pontoon bridge there. The museum was air conditioned which was nice since it was a hot day. Was an okay stop.
The museum offers a daily harbor tour but you must call ahead and make reservations. The museum shows the maritime history of Curacao under the rule of the Dutch, Spanish, French & British. We were very happy to have spent the hour at the museum and the hour harbor tour.
The history was very well displayed and explained.. The history was very well displayed and explained.. The history was very well displayed and explained..
Nice, roomy and interesting. Explained most everything in multiple languages. Left you to wander on your own and asked only for donations.
Museum has nice harbor trip on wednesday and saturday afternoons. Museum is easy accessed at the end of Handelskade, opposite the Customs building. All on walking distance from city cruise terminals. Nice Museum. But... Be aware of the restaurant above the museum. Service is extremelly slow. We had to wait for over an hour for a simple salad.
We only got here 50 mins before closing and really we could have done with another half an hour to go through the museum (and this was without watching any of the videos). The museum is quite modern and well set out and there is a long ramp up to a first floor mezzanine and a spiral staircase to a...

a 5 minute walk to Scharloo across the LB Smith foot bridge gets you to this beautiful building. Whereas the maritime history of Curacao is interesting, I loved the couple of dozen models of ships including Columbus' Santa Maria, The Mayflower, The Swedish Vasa, English, Spanish, French, Norwegian wooden ships, tankers, container ships etc. The small 3rd floor has a...

Go on past the many Heerenstraat shops, the floating market, watch the folks cleaning fish, and keep on across the little drawbridge right to the front door of this excellent museum. Curacao is all about the sea and maritime trade, and this museum captures it very well with excellent and well chosen exhibits. I found it well worth the $6.50...
