After spending 5 days touring central London we decided to get away from the congestion and see some open spaces. I chose Kew Gardens because it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We used our Oyster Cards to travel from Central London transferring to the District Line - Richmond Branch. The gates open at 9:30 am daily. Victoria Gate was... More

The best way to get to Kew gardens is by train/tube. Make sure you visit on a sunny day. We went over a weekend and reached Kew before 10am, and it wasn't that crowded. You can find many plants/flowers and some fish too. There are plenty of places to eat and relax. The prices for food/ice cream is not cheap,... More

My family visited the gardens during a recent visit to the UK on the suggestion of my UK based daugher. We were going to have a picnic there but it was too cold on the day, but we had a great time nevertheless roaming the grounds which were huge. The glass houses were filled with the most amazing plants from... More

I had a wonderful day spent at Kew. Fantastic weather = 22 degrees = . The gardens were wonderful, with a mixture of very prim and proper flower beds and wonderfully relatively wild areas for stroling around. The tree tops walk was brilliant and, even though I am not great at heights, I did not feel too nervous whilst up... More

There's a reason Kew Gardens is so famous - when the weather is good people flock here from all across London and beyond so here's a tip: don't waste time queuing at the main entrance. You'll be in much quicker at one of the three side entrances - near the Pagoda or by Kew Bridge, for example. Once inside there... More

We visited kew gardens recently and found it to be a very equipted and beautiful place. The food in the cafes is quite expensive but you have the choice of taking a packed lunch. The baby changing facilities are brilliant and are scattered all around the gardens. We did have very good weather so that helped massively. Very child friendly.... More

This is a weather depending sight even if the green houses possibly are the main attractions. Never the less, you'll still have to walk between the green houses and it is another feeling to enter a green house to seek protection from the weather than to enter it with blue skies outside. Be aware - the old green house (the... More

Just spent a pleasant couple of hours in Kew today. Weather not good but loads to see the bluebells were beautiful, such a vibrant shade of blue. Where there wasn't any blossom there was every shade of green to be seen. The lilacs were in bloom but because the weather was cool they did not have a lot o scent,... More
