My (25 year-old) daughter booked this tour for she and I as a Christmas present. We went on March 2, 2013, and it was one of the most interesting and challenging things we have done recently. I was the oldest person (62) on the tour. 12 of the people were college students from Chicago, who were all part of an... More

I went on the Wild Cave Tour back in November of 2012 with 5 of my girlfriends and I had the time of my life. After the tour was over, our guides told us that the difficulty level that we experienced was about 8/10. Haha, I was so disappointed because I wanted to experience 10/10! I guess this is why... We spent money and time to go on the wild cave tour and despite calling the day of and the day prior, they would not say if our tour was cancelled. They gave us no warning to say it was cancelled and instead waited until after the tour was supposed to start, wasting our time and money.

The Wild Cave Tour at Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky was awesome. It was an amazing day full of challenges and excitement. My husband and I had the best time and is a must do if you meet the criteria (42" around the chest - doublecheck that number!) and must wear over-the-ankle deep treaded hiking boots. Now that we... Having experienced the Wild Cave Tour on two previous occasions, once in 1976 and the other in 1992, I used this tour as a personal physical challenge. I am a 54 year old female, my health is very good, but I was out of shape so I spent 7 weeks beforehand, exercising, trying to build my strength and stamina. I... More

The Wild Cave Tour is definitely much more fun than the Introduction to Caving. The guides, Emily and John rock...In fact both of the John's rock. Being lean, fit, and small for the most part is an advantage due to the tight spaces. The only time being short was an issue was during two areas where we canyon walked and... More

I have done the Wild Cave Tour twice. Both times I ended up with the same head guide. I'm not sure if she's the only one that does it, but I was very happy! Not only does she make sure everyone is safe, she tells great stories, too. Different ones each time! You don't have to be in tip-top shape... More

I was concerned this tour would be too difficult for the Girl Scout troop I was traveling with, but it was perfect. There were belly crawls in very low clearance and squeezes like the "keyhole", but nothing as extreme as the bare hole on the Wild Cave Tour. However, there was a woman who was close to the size requirements,... More

I read the reviews on here, and decided to go with the Wild Cave tour on my trip to Mammoth Cave. I'm in my late 20s and was mildly concerned about the tight spaces...they ended up being fine. My group was filled with people in their teens and 20s, and we blew through the first bits of crawling (on hands... More

We did the introduction to caving tour which is one step below the wild cave tour...well according to our guides maybe ten steps =) We had a great time. I'm 5'4" and found the small spaces easy but the longer gap walking a challenge. My 6' husband, on the other hand, had to crawl more in the low spots. It... More
