I love to visit places and have seen sunset uncountable number of times, was it from mountains of Himalayas, beaches of Mauritius or deserts in Udaipur in India, but what I witnessed during sunset at Cadillac mountain was one of the marvelous experience of my life. We reached there in the afternoon it was a sunny day but by the... More

Heed the advice to get there early prior to sunrise or sunset. It's worth the trip to see either but you'd hate to drive all the way up there to miss it in traffic. Here's a quick video of our sunrise back in August. The pictures at the end set the traffic scene but luckily we made it for the... More

We were staying too far away to see the sun rise, but we were lucky enough to be there on a beautiful clear day. The views from the top of Cadillac Mountain were incredible. There were many easily traversed trails near the gift shop and we didn't find them difficult at all. More

Cadillac Mountain provides the best location to see the sunset in Acadia NP. Make sure to check the sunset time & head up to Cadiallac Mt well in advance of it to avoid all the car traffic that come in the last 15-20 minutes before sunset. Park at the top of the Mt & hike down a little ways on... More

Acadia National Park is a place that would take several days to see. Cadillac Mountain is only one of the truly spectacular natural sites here. I highly recommend trying to time your visit with the sunset or sunrise. This is the highest point within 25 miles of the entire eastern coast of the United States. I actually visited in October... The drive to Cadillac mountain is up a steep grade but the road is good and sufficiently wide. The view of the surrounding area from the top is well worth the trip and is one landscape photographers would not want to miss. One can view the city of bar Harbor and surrounding area as well as the beautiful blue waters of... More

One of the highlights of our trip to New England. It was beautiful. Take you time, there are so many vistas to take in and photograph. I wish I had been there for sunrise. More

Start up the mountain one hour before sunset. The traffic may be slow. Stop at a western parking lot below the summit. Parking is very limited, so arrive early to get a parking spot. Hundreds of people may be here for sunset. There is a porta-potty at the parking lot. Bring a tripod. You may have people in your photo... More
