Great golf course and Mike at the restaurant does a great job. If you are looking to bring your team for a dinner out this has lots of meeting room space and fantastic views of Satellite Channel. The course is great value and challenging but fair.

Arbutus Ridge Golf Club is located 20 minutes from the outskirts of Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The golf course has a Four Star Golf Digest Rating and is located in the seaside community of Cobble Hill directly surrounded by 9 Cowichan wineries and just 10 minutes from the cultural city of Duncan or 40 minutes from Nanaimo. The Satellite Bar & Grille boasts one of BC's most scenic patios overlooking the 18th hole. The glass-fronted clubhouse juts over a hill,looking out to the Satellite Channel and offers a combination of mountain and ocean views. The clubhouse offers an ideal setting for a Wedding, Banquet, Meeting or Golf Tournament. Arbutus Ridge also host the GBC Golf Academy, Vancouver Island's finest location for a golf school, golf clinic, or private golf lesson. This has to be one of te best buffets on the planet...everything and everything good. Seafood, beef, pork, chicken, fruit, blah blah blah....*slurp*. This has it all and more. We have been at the Thursday roast beef dinner night several times. It has not always been consistant but the last 2 times have been nothing short of terrific. We ordered medium rare and it came exactly as ordered. We hope this is a norm from now on.

Course has a great variety of holes, some elevation change, some unique holes. A little on the short side, but makes up for it with degree of difficulty. Tougher than its rating. Think before you take out the big stick.

A few challenging holes. Tough start with penalties for straying off line. A very good inexpensive Men's night with lots of prizes! Average for food. Great club-house location. Some of the houses intrude towards the fairways in places unless you stay in the middle. Hilly if pulling a cart.

The total package here is well worth the drive from Victoria, just around 45 minutes from the ferry or 35 minutes from downtown it is well worth the drive to enjoy this hidden gem out in the Cowichan Valley. Whether you are heading up island or down, Arbutus is a golf course to stop at and enjoy. The course is in good shape, not as difficult as Bear Mountain/Olympicview/Highlands from a walking perspective and every bit as lovely. The restaurant is SUPERB ... if you don't golf come here just to eat, drink and be merry!

We were there on a beautiful Monday evening, so the dining room wasn't busy. We were a table of 4 and everyone's meal was great. My steak was cooked too perfection. I would have rated this experience as excellent except our waitress spilled the wine on the table and didn't apologize or hurry to clean it up. Also, she didn't...
