Definitely got to go to this market. Lots of interesting stalls and things to buy. It is busy but that just adds to the experience.

Sunday market in chiang mai was probably the highlight of my weeklong stay in CM. Thousands of stalls offered crafts, clothes, food, art, knick knacks, jewelry and so much more! The Sunday night market had local crafts made by artisans here in CM, not imported touristy crap like the stuff in Phuket. Something else that I really appreciated was the...

This market had the most interesting and beautiful things to buy while in Chiang Mai - both on the street and at Ta Pae gate.
But,I hadn't seen so many people in the city my entire stay! Really crowded - just like Internet pics show. I thought those might be a special time of year but, nope - super crowded....

No need to rehash that others have written. This is a smaller market (relative to a market like Chatachuk in Bangkok) but has some very nice offerings at good prices (though some things are more expensive here than in Bangkok! You have to know this though, to be able to bargain).
Go early, because after the market officially "opens" at...

This is a huge night market in a really nice part of Chiang Mai. As you enter the market is a Buddhist temple, whose grounds are surrounded by tons of the best street food vendors. You'll get anything from spring rolls, fried chicken, shrimp, sandwiches, Mexican, superb Thai food, Strawberry milk shakes, fresh & delicious orange juice, lovely thai deserts...

We spent 3 hours walking through these markets (and got ourselves some nice food and a few handicrafts). The stuff for sale is not knock off bags and sunglasses but novel handicrafts and interesting items. Some stuff was reassuringly expensive and the experience was a pleasure.

A busy, bustling Sunday only night market. Cheapest prices in Chiang Mai, even better than the night bazaar. It is crowded, vendors lay sheets on the roadside on bring their own tables but their wares are priced really low and you can bargain them further down. All sorts here from souvenirs and clothes to crafts and nicknacks.

We spent a couple of hours walking the Sunday evening market in Chiang Mai which starts at 5pm and finishes around 10 or 11. I runs from Thapae Gate along Ratchadamnoen Rd.
It has lots of food stalls with delicious Thai food as well as good selection of international dishes including things like sushi, Italian and BBQ. While many of...
